Lee Westwood Golf Academy, Golf academies for children aged 7-16 years old
Lee has helped put together a coaching programme that will cover every aspect of the game. By using this programme at the fantastic facilities our venues can offer we can ensure that every attendee will improve their golf.
There will also be ‘off-course’ sessions including – Etiquette / Rules / Marking Your Card / Nutrition / Fitness /Psychology (some sessions are not applicable for the youngest age groups)
With a 10:1 coaching ratio we can ensure every attendee receives excellent coaching attention. Each attendee will also take away with them a ‘Feedback form’ which will give them a breakdown of their strengths and the areas they need to work on.
Every attendee will receive great coaching in the 3 days; however there is also a competitive part to the Academy!!
At each Academy every attendee will play in a series of competitions on and off the course that will cover every aspect of the game.
The competitions will be age appropriate and are designed to be, most importantly, great fun!
However the overall winner from these competitions from each Academy will win a day’s golf with Lee Westwood at Lindrick Golf Club, 30th August 2010
This means that 17 lucky winners will be able to play alongside one of the best golfers this country has ever produced. The winners will be able to gain advice from him and learn what it has taken for him to produce the golf he has.
It is important to mention that this part of the Academy is not just about winning; there will be numerous other prizes so that everyone enjoys the experience regardless of how they do.
Two year full-time programme for young golfers based at Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa.
Based at the excellent Portal Golf & Spa, Cheshire, the school will offer young golfers aged 16 and over the opportunity to follow their dreams – whether as a PGA playing professional, teaching professional, working within the industry, or continuing into higher education in the UK or overseas.
The school gives all students the opportunity to develop their golf skills along with life skills and, very importantly, their education. The full time two-year course will follow a unique, and tested, structured programme, which will develop and enhance golf, education, lifestyle, psychology, fitness and more. Students will have the unique opportunity to experience how Lee became one of the world’s leading golfers, helping them transform a tough decision into something that can provide focus and structure. Lees plan to be actively involved within the business and the programme will ensure that the facilities, coaching and training methods will be world class.
The programme is supported and endorsed by the EGU and the Golf Foundation. Places will be limited each year and by interview only, with an Open Day being held at Portal on March 27th.
The Lee Westwood Golf School will be looking to offer someone who has attended an Academy the opportunity to become a student at the School on a scholarship programme*.
